Great for: Window trim, Fascia, Soffits, Rake, Corner Board, Door trim, Band board, Column wraps (WindsorONE Protected has a Gold Indoor Air Quality Rating and can also be used on the interior). Do NOT use for: Hand rails, Planters, Pergolas, Trellises, Decking, Siding, Fences, Exterior stairs.

What does the 30 year warranty on protected boards cover?

The 30 year warranty on WindsorONE Protected Boards protects against rot insects and mold (this includes Formosan Termites). Infused to the core with patented Tru-Core Technology, every part of the board is protected. It also includes a patented Weather Resistance System that limits the ability of wood to absorb water. Can exterior trim boards be used on the interior of the home?

Accepted Answer

Unlike other protected or treated boards, all WindsorONE Protected Exterior products can be used on the interior of the home as all WindsorONE products have a Gold Interior Air Quality rating. Harmful emissions can be commonly found in many building products, particularly exterior products. Thanks to patented Tru-Core Technology, WindsorONE Protected Exterior Trim is among the few exceptions in this case. WindsorONE Protected passes SCS Global Services most stringent emissions tests and are approved to use in even the interior of schools and healthcare facilities.

Since it's launch over 18 years ago, there has never been a claim on rot insects or mold with WindsorONE Protected Boards.

S4SSE (can be and often is used interchangeably with the shortened term "S4S") is a building industry description for wood trim boards that have 4 smooth sides with 4 square edges.

What are "S1S2E" trim boards? Are they different from "S1S" boards?

Accepted Answer

S1S2E (can be and often is used interchangeably with the shortened term "S1S") is a building industry description for wood trim boards that have 1 rough-sawn side (and 3 smooth sides) with 2 eased edges. (An "eased edge" is a corner edge that has a small radius as opposed to a sharp square corner edge.)
