The Simple Clean Lines of Flat Stock Moldings and Wainscoting

Complementing the texture of the woven natural fiber of the wall covering and the wide plank wood floors, is the smooth even finish of the wood trim boards that hold the industry leading priming process. Make it your own

There are a plethora of ways to take WindsorONE flat stock trim boards and transform them into the moldings you need for your home. Here’s a take that’s novel; cutting a groove along the edge. An easy way to customize, set up the fence on your table saw and just run those boards through. With no knots and imperfections, the consistency of WindsorONE primed wood boards makes cutting, routing, milling a breeze. This is a another great way to emphasize light and shadow in the room.

Primed wood over other substrates for moldings

There are a lot of options when it comes for moldings for your home. A big one in the market is MDF for paint grade projects. MDF moldings lack the crispness and detail that can have a dulling effect on your shadow lines. Also it’s worth noting that WindsorONE primed wood moldings have no harmful off-gassing and all WindsorONE products (both Traditional and Protected) have an SCS Gold Indoor Air Quality Rating, making them an excellent choice for a healthy home.

Mixing it up with Gray/Green Shiplap Wainscoting

A nice way to work in variety and expand the color palette of the home; not every room needs the same wall treatment. Here they used horizontal runs of WORS Shiplap along with their customized Flat Stock trim, painting it a gray-ish green color – a color trend that seems to have some staying power. The shiplap is capped off with a piece of 1×2. Nicely done!

Mind the Gap

A true shiplap profile can offer a variety of gap sizes. The WORS6 (1×6) and WORS8 (1×8) profiles can be customized to have a butt joint all the way up to a 1/2” reveal. For this project it looks as though they’ve matched the groove that they cut into the flat stock creating their own customized style. CUSTOM MUDROOM STORAGE

It’s only a matter of time before more of these fantastic mudroom storage photos come in and I get to the point where an installation of one begins in my own home. (There’s a number, I don’t know what it is… but we’re getting very close.) The ultimate cure for that drop off pile by the door; storage shelves above, storage below the bench, hooks on a shiplap or tongue & groove wall. Drywall as you know is not up to the job of this high utility space, primed pine boards and a good finish make it stand up to the wear and tear as well has making it easier to clean. Shiplap Ceiling with Rustic Stain Grade Beams

There’s just something about topping of the project right. Particularly in these spaces where you’ve got these tall ceilings and want to draw the eye up.
